Spray On Coatings:
Whether it is newly constructed or used equipment Brother's experienced staff can assist you in determining the best system to protect your investment. Brother's supplies and installs a complete range of internal and external spray on coatings. When putting together a coating specification each coating has a particular chemical, temperature and abrasion resistance that must be considered for the specified service.
By utilizing in house designed equipment, Brother's is able to internally abrasive blast and line vessels and tanks (shop & field), straight line pipe up to 40' in length and fabricated pipe spools (shop only).
The application technique is perhaps the main factor in determining the success of a particular coating.
Spray Metallizing:
Brother's Specialized Coatings has been involved in metallizing for several years. During this time, towers, vessels, tanks, piping and structural equipment have been successfully metallized either in Brother's Shop or on location in the field. Brother's equipment is mobile and can be moved to any location. Brother's is equipped with four high production guns that allow us to perform the smallest of jobs to the largest projects.
Metallizing has numerous corrosion and erosion prevention applications such as:
· Rebuilding of abraded areas - build up substrate thickness
· Areas that maintain high temperature services or high flows
· Fresh and Salt Water Environments
· Protection from salt and/or humidity as experienced on bridges and off shore structures
· Exhaust Stacks and Muffler Systems - High Temperature
· Internal Coatings of Tanks, Vessels, Refining Towers and Larger diameter piping
The most widely sprayed metals are stainless steels, aluminum and zinc, however a large variety of alloys are available for special applications. The type of metal required for each application is solely dependent on the designated service. Brother's can offer advice as to which is the most suitable application for the intended service.
Pipe Coatings: (shop only)
Brother's Specialized Coatings has a solid reputation for consistently giving leading service and high quality applications on and in pipe. By using specialized equipment and techniques designed in house, Brother's is able to deliver high quality applications and inspections on straight-line pipe, fabricated pipe spools and pipe bends. (Maximum 40' straight lengths in 3"Ø and larger.)
If the request is for specialized external applications such as thick film epoxies, zincs, metallizing or high heat coatings, Brother's can handle the job. We are approved applicators for several varieties of coatings including thick film plural component epoxies and Urethanes. (e.g.: Specialty Polymers 2888/3888, Enviroline 376/473 and Devmat 100/800 etc.) These thick film coatings may be used in place of fusion-bond epoxies as in the case of radius bends and fittings, which cannot be coated with conventional straight pipe due to their shapes and configurations. We have also applied thick film urethanes and epoxies over the fusion bond epoxy, as well as, directly to blasted substrates as protection for slip bore piping used for river and road crossings. We can offer advise on project specific requirements as to the coating that is best suited for the intended service.
Brother's has a strong reputation for delivering high quality internal linings in fabricated pipe spools and can apply liquid epoxy internal linings to a wide variety of fabricated pipe sizes, lengths and configurations. The difficulty with fabricated spooling is with the various fitting and flange configurations. Certain design parameters are necessary for proper access and application of internal pipe coatings. Welds are a major factor in the success of internal coatings in fabricated piping to ensure a holiday free coating. As part of Brother's Quality Assurance Program, all welds are inspected prior to abrasive blasting and coating to ensure that they meet acceptable standards. Brother's works hard to make our customers aware of these issues and can advise on specific design requirements necessary to allow for internal coating of fabricated pipe spools.
It is advisable that all piping that requires internal coating be done in a controlled shop environment to maintain a consistent coating job.

Brother's has been involved in the lining of small volume tanks for several years. In that time, we have achieved successes in the application of thick film and thin film epoxies, 100% solids linings, metallized linings and fibreglass linings.
In the event that a thick film epoxy or thin film epoxy is requested for the particular job, Brother's is fully qualified to apply these coatings in tanks or vessels. We have
successfully applied these coatings in the shop and on location in the field. |
